Consultation process

How a counselling session works

01

Getting in touch

The employee contacts us by phone or email to schedule an appointment.

02

Initial consultation (60 to 90 minutes)

We jointly clarify the concern, define initial goals, and determine the next steps.

03

Situation analysis

We assess professional, personal, and social aspects to gain a holistic understanding of the situation.

04

Consultation phase (3 to 5 sessions)

In regular meetings or coaching sessions, we work towards the defined goals and continuously reflect on progress.

05

Interim review

We review the progress made so far and, if necessary, adjust goals or methods.

06

Conclusion

Once stability has been achieved, we conclude the process by mutual agreement or refer to further support services if needed.

  1. Background
Mr H. is a member of the executive board and feels exhausted and insecure. He has noticed a decline in his performance, doubts his abilities, and considers resigning.
  2. Concern
He wants to understand why he no longer feels up to his leadership role and clarify whether the situation can be improved.
  3. The sybek approach
In coaching, Mr H. reflects on his core strengths, typical pitfalls and limitations. In doing so, he also analyses his handling of an unreliable team member.
  4. Process
He identifies what is holding him back and practises new behavioural strategies. He restructures his team and delegates tasks more consistently.
  5. Outcome
Mr H. gains clarity, reduces weekend work and strengthens his confident presence in the executive board. He is perceived as competent and decisive, which has a positive impact on the company.
  1. Background
Ms S. is a long-standing employee who is struggling with her new, younger supervisor. The team atmosphere is hostile, with increasing sick leave and threats of resignation.
  2. Concern
She seeks support in dealing with her new supervisor and the team conflicts.
  3. The sybek approach
Together, it is recognised that the problem affects the entire team. A clarification session (mandatory team meeting for conflict resolution) is proposed.
  4. Process
Ms S. approaches HR and senior management, who agree to the clarification session. In a structured meeting, misunderstandings are addressed, and more open communication is established.
  5. Outcome
The team becomes noticeably more relaxed, and collaboration improves. Ms S. is proud to have contributed to positive change through her initiative.
  1. Background
Ms Z. cared for and supported her seriously ill mother. Following her mother’s death, she falls into deep emotional distress and struggles to concentrate at work.
  2. Concern
She seeks support in coping with her grief and the pressure to perform at work.
  3. The sybek approach
During counselling, we recognise together that her reduced performance is part of the grieving process. We also reflect on how perfectionism from her childhood continues to affect her today.
  4. Process
Step by step, Ms Z. learns to relieve the intense internal pressure she is under. She strengthens her self-confidence and sets clearer boundaries with demanding relatives.
  5. Outcome
She regains new energy and joy in life, goes on a trip, and returns to work feeling refreshed. Her self-confidence grows, and she is better able to cope with her grief.
  1. Background
Mr H. is frequently absent due to stomach problems. Medical examinations have not yielded a clear diagnosis. His irregular routine results in workplace conflicts and social isolation.
  2. Concern
HR refers Mr H. to sybek to clarify the causes of his frequent absences and support improvement.
  3. The sybek approach
During the counselling sessions, Mr H. builds trust and discloses problematic alcohol consumption as the root cause. Together, strategies for change are developed.
  4. Process
Short, regular counselling sessions help him reduce his alcohol consumption and manage his behaviour more consciously.
  5. Outcome
Mr H. stabilises his health, reduces his absences, and is able to keep his job. The organisation benefits from an experienced employee who has regained his performance capacity.
